Twisted Thursday - Walk the Dog

Here is another challenge called Twisted Thursday click here and it will take you to the Paper Therapy Blog. At the bottom of that post you can check out the other cards done with this challenge. This week we had to use this sketch to play, and the "twist" is to add DIMENSION, I did change the circle to a rectangle and I hope that it is okay.
Well when my order came in yesterday (YEAH, I just love getting these packages) I knew I had to use Man's Best Friend. I added layers and dimension on top of the dog and the fire hydrant check out the photos below to get a better view.
I will try to post sometime this weekend but I have family in town, so you may not see me until Monday.

Stamp Set: Man's Best Friend Paper: Almost Amethyst, Barely Banana, Real Red, White and DSP Ink: Basic Black and Real Red Accessories: Gingham Ribbon, Dimensionals, and Brads (pink hedgehog).

Mojo84 - Thank you

I know it is not Monday but I finally got to my Mojo Monday Sketch Card, we have until Sunday to upload our cards to play along. Click here to see some other great cards using this sketch.
I used Jersey Shore DSP which I just love and wish I had more of it, but I know it had wild wasabi in it so it had to go. Sometimes I just hate to see things on the retirement list, it will be nice that we will now have a whole year with one main catalog. Don't get me wrong I like seeing new things and that is when the mini catalogs come into play. Also it will save me some money.
OMG the last two days have felt like Summer here in Maryland and today is feeling more like a nice Spring day, they are calling for rain and I hope it does so it will get rid of all of this pollen.

Stamp Set: Spring Solitude Paper: Kraft, Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy, White, and DSP Jersey Shore Ink: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, and Night of Navy Accessories: Scallop Punch, Trio Flower Punch, Brads (Pink Hedgehog), Filigree Designer Brads, and Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

VSAPR1

Here is one of the sketches for the April 2009 Release Week Challenge from Verve. Check out their Blog here. I have been having problems with uploading photo's to Splitcoast but it now works. Do Not Eat the Cupcake

I saw these great little cupcake gift card holders here and as soon as I did I had to try to make one. Once I got my first one done I started another. I went back out to Michaels and bought a bunch of paper flowers (which were on clearance for $2.99 @ 20-25 per package). I just love these but give yourself plenty of time. I sat down and watched TV while I threaded my Ribbon (you will need lots of ribbon), this is what takes the longest. Well here are my first two, hope you like them and if you make one I would love to see it.
The first one that you see I scored the DSP every 1/2 inch and the bottom I scored at ever 1/4 inch. I think I like the 1/4 inch better, let me know your thoughts.

This one was my first and I will not use striped DSP again.
If the patterns are not the same for both pieces
it doesn't line up and it looks bad.

Have a wonderful day, Candice ;-)

What an Inspiration!!!

I was floored when I say this video of Susan Boyle on YouTube. Susan auditioned for Britian's Got Talent and you need to watch her PERFORMANCE!!! It is the BEST, it put a smile on my face and a tears to my eyes. What an Inspiration....click on the link below to watch her performance.

Update on Ruger

Ruger just chillen in one of his favorite spotsThis one is him watching the kids play T-ball
I think he really wanted to be out in the field
Ruger had his apt at the MASH (vet unit) yesterday and we got him scheduled for TPLO surgery on Monday and he will come home on Tuesday. So do you want to hear the $$$, hold you breath because it is a big number.
First let me tell you what they will be doing. X-rays first to see all the damage. While in surgery they will be fracturing his leg and then move his knee into a better position, they then shave down his bone, and put in a plate and a screw, all for a torn ACL we could have done a cheaper surgery but his size, age and as active as he is we really needed to do the better of the two. We also talked to Eric's brother who is a vet and he also recommended the TPLO.
Ya know it has to be done he is a member of the family and we have to keep him healthy and out of pain. He will have to stay in a crate for 2 weeks with minimal movement, that is only to take him out to go potty and about 6 more weeks of short walks no jumping or running. OMG this is going to be a rough 8 weeks. When it is all done he should be back to normal, okay her is the cost $2950.

It's Not All Black & White

While I was out shopping for Easter Basket stuff for the kids I came across this really neat looking stuff from QUEEN & Co. it came in a bunch of different colors, I grabbed the Black pack and decided I was going to use it on my next card. It is called felt fusion (self-adhesive) and you get a yard per pack.
I used the Fabulous Flowers Stamp Set and I inked it up in Pixie Pink then I thumped all over the image with the Pink Passion marker. I used the Eyelet Border Punch, added some of the Black Gingham Ribbon and topped it off with a white button. Well here it is and I hope you guys like it, thanks for stopping in.

Top Note Scrap

We made this cute little card at my last in home workshop. I pulled out all my scraps from Delicate Dots DSP (sell-a-bration) and the girls glued them to a piece of pre-cut white paper, just enough to fit over the Top Note Die. We used the In Good Form Stamp Set, I also pulled out my overflowing cardstock scrap basket and I let them layer however they wanted. We used the Trio Flower Punch, the Round Tab Punch, Brads, and Grosgrain Ribbon to accessorize. Thanks for stopping by.

Mojo Monday - A Good Egg

Okay ladies this is my first card on my new blog and I decided to do a Mojo Monday Challenge, you can find the link here.
I used the SAB Designer Series Paper for the background, A Good Egg Stamp Set, and those great little flowers were found in the dollar spot at Target last year. If you scroll down you will also see a close up shot of that great stuff on the egg shell. It is called diamond dust, it can be found in the glue section at Michaels (at least at the one I went to) but I could not figure out why on earth it was located in that section ???. I hope you enjoy, and thanks for stopping by.

Have a Wonderful Day, Candice ;-)
