Yeah it went really well and I ended up selling all the kits. The girls really enjoyed themselves and they loved the little extra. I can't wait to do the next class in March it is going to be the Rolodex Birthday Calendar. I have already received them and I am working on mine now, can't wait to show you guys. Three Little Words

So last week there was a pretty bad accident in front of the house and the car took down the power pole. Everyone was okay thank goodness. I didn't have phone or internet service for 5 days they had to restring all the wires, it was quit a mess. Well anyways onto this card we made it at my Friday night in home workshop. The girls made 4 different projects. This other one is those little binder clip post-it-note holders with a pen to match.

In this class we will make a cute little box with a clear cover. We will make/design 4 cards. You will also be provided all the measurements so you can go home and make more of these cute boxes (great for a gift). Class fee is $20, please RSVP by Monday.

Okay so last Friday I finally had my Canvas class. I know I talked about it for months, it was a long time coming girls, thanks for hanging in there. I had 6 girls attend this event and everyone's canvas turned out AWESOME!!! Trash to Treasure

Okay guys this piece was on its way to the dump. My neighbor was getting rid of it and I thought that I could do something nice with it. I got rid of the drawers because they would have been to much work they didn't go in straight and when you pulled them out well lets just say I put them to rest. My husband will be putting in shelves and I will be putting baskets there in place of the drawers. Oh and it will be going into my workshop. The women in the photo's she is my mother-in-law and she really helped me with this project. :-)

The top of this piece did have some water damage so we pulled it off and that was not as easy as I thought it was going to be we had to use some small nails in that are to hold it down. Anyway when I get finished with it you wont even see the top of it. I am (was) in search of a nice piece of marble and my girlfriend Nicole they re-did her fire place and she kept it and she is giving it to me. I will have to get it cut down but I think it will really finish it off.

This cute little number was made for my daughter. I found this great little board at Wal*Mart for $8 way back during the Summer, GOOD news I have seen them there recently, so you can still get yours to make one. Sloane picked out her DSP and colors that she wanted on her Message Center, and I think it really did turn out pretty cool, I hope she will love it.

Pretty Flower Magnets, Kim over at Stampin' by the Sea gave a great little tutorial/video on how to make these flowers into book markers you can check it out here, and her new best friend well it may be mine to I have been using it a bunch lately, go check it out.

This simple simple card was made at my last In Home Workshop. I love how it turned out with the flower (Boho Blossoms) and Lace Ribbon Border. Using water is best for these pretty flowers. Just give the pieces a lite spritz and then just crinkle them up, and then very gently un-crinkle them, layer and pierce them to put the brad through. Thanks for stopping by.

Oh I am trying to get all my ducks in a row before we leave for Key West next week. My mother-in-law is coming into town to watch the kids, can't wait to get back in the sun. Oh when I saw this folded card challenge here I just had to play, you should go check it out to see some of the other cool cards made. So this card took me about a days to come up with, but when I saw this paper I just knew what I was going to do, it is also a card that the girls will be making at a Friday night workshop. So here is a card that the girls will be making Friday at the workshops. This card is using a Stamp Set out of the new Holiday Mini Catalog Piece of Poison along with the new Pick your Poison DSP. Did you notice that he kinda sparkles, I used our new dazzling details, not to much just a little. I used the new Simply Scored to prepare for this workshop and can I say "it made my life easy" Just Love It!!! The Quick Accents are just AWESOME, great way to decorate your candy jars for all those Halloween decoration can't wait to put mine out. Thanks for stopping by.

A few Cards

So I did have my In-Home Workshop on Friday, and it went really well, it was great seeing everyone after Summer Vacation. I ended up having 2 shows one at 9:30 and the other at 5:30. I had a total of 12 gals come even with Irene headed our way. We made 3 projects and they seemed to go over well with everyone. Since I had just got back from Disney I had to make a Mickey Mouse Card. I had seen a card similar to this one so of course I knew when I saw it this was a must case!!!

Pinwheels seem to be big so of course I had to make this one, and yes it is also a case.

This is a great way to use up those scraps DSP. The size of the large pinwheel is 2 x 2 and the small one is 1 1/2 x 1 1/2. Perfect size for this card.

Hope you all are doing okay after Irene. Eric and I took the kids to Rita's Sunday night and we were just shocked by all the devastation that St. Mary's county received. :-(

Birthday and 2nd day of Camp

Okay so Tuesday we went to Six Flags with my sister's family to celebrate Maggie's 10th Birthday and oh YES all of them who wanted to got to RIDE Superman, Sloane and Sam were so happy because last year they were not tall enough!!! Yeah I know we all had Superman Shirts on, there were 9 of us, I know we are dorks, he he he!!!

So I did have camp yesterday and we did two really cute projects. A Gumball/Candy Machine and a handprint canvas. I just love how the handprint canvas's turned out, and I think the parents will also like this one.

using all of the colors in the photo above they painted their backdrop

then we put a white wash over it

and that was just a watered down white paint.

here is what one of them looked liked when it was dried

Then with a piece of brown fabric they traced their hand and part of their arm.

Oh yeah I ironed on heat and stick to the back of the fabric.

then using three different shades of green we punched out flowers

we curled them a bit with our fingers

and then glued them down w/E-6000

so here is one of the finished products

I-Crafty Camp Day One

Okay so this is my last KIDZ camp for the Summer, and this year I did a total of 5 of them, maybe to many... at the beginning of the week I had 11 spots taken and for the first time I had a few cancel, well 6 to be exact, what a BUMMER, but the 5 that were here we had a really good time.

Okay so this is what I have been doing this Summer, I-Crafty Camps and Swim Team. Oh My Goodness, I have done 3 I-Crafty Camps so far this summer and still have one more to do. The girls have all done a WONDERFUL JOB!!! They have all been real fun to work with. Some of these projects were so much fun to make. I can't believe how fast this summer has gone, 5 more weeks till school OMG!!!

Cute Little Treat Holder

OMG how time flies, it has been way to long. I'll give you a quick little run down on what has been going on here. My Mother-in-law was down for two weeks, my son received his first communion, my nephew received his first communion the weekend after Sam, and then mothers day the kids and I were in IN for 4 days. I thought when I got back it would slow down a bit "NO" my car went in the shop, I am doing the Warrior Dash on Saturday, I am planning a Girl Scout event this Sunday for my Troop. I just can't seem to catch my breath... AND WHAT there is only 4 more weeks of school. :-)

Yeah, I have a post for you guys today, yeah!!! This is using that cute little scallop envelope die (which I think is a must have) and the butter fly punch. Some of my girls wanted to learn how to make these cute little flowers on this treat holder so at my last workshop this was one of the projects. I know these have been around for a while but until my girls asked I hadn't even tried to do these and oh how easy they are... Thanks for stopping in.

Oh I love how simple this turned out yet it is so pretty, can I say that??? Not sure if my nephew would like me to say something turned out pretty with him in it, but it did!!! Adam is just 6 months younger than my son Sam. This photo was taken on a family vacation quite a few years ago. They are both 8 now and both of them are receiving their first communion in the new few weeks. Wow how they grow up so fast right before your own eyes.

Black Magic

Okay so I dabbled just a bit with BLACK MAGIC!!!

Black Magic you say, it is a technique using the white craft pad (you need a solid image to stamp with) and watercolor pencils. One of my girlfriends made a card and I just loved how it turned out, so I had to give it a try. The colors POP off the page, not really sure if you can see it in the photos but in person it is really pretty. Two of my girls asked that I show them how to do this technique and well this is one of the projects that they will be doing this Friday. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Oh I am in the works of something BIG!!! So ladies watch for some real exciting news in the next month. I am telling you it will be BIG and lots of FUN!!! This will be a huge undertaking for me (the largest event I have ever done) and you wont want to miss out on the FUN!!! It will be here in Southern Maryland sometime in September or October... I am real excited about this event and hope that you will be able to make it!!!

MONO and Last Few Weeks

Last Monday Sloane went to the nurse at school late in the afternoon she had an elevated temperature and a sore throat. I thought oh just a bug she was fine the rest of the day and her temperature never went above 99.7. Well the next morning she got ready for school, we were out at the bus stop and she just started to cry. I told her to go back in the house and lay down I put Sam on the bus and then took her over to urgent care. Sloane really doesn't act like that when she is sick so I knew something was going on. I thought maybe strep but neither of my kids have ever had it...

Well at the doctors they did the strep test and it came back negative just like I thought it would. I would have been shocked if it came back positive. But I was even more shocked when they found out what was wrong with her. I pointed out the swelling to the doctor along her jaw line, just on her left side which she did notice. The Doctor brought up MONO and I told her that I thought there was a little boy who might have it, which I found out later his test came back negative. The doctor had the nurse come back in to do the blood test and guess what it came back positive, Sloane has MONO... I would have never guessed... Anyway she is doing fine just tired and bummed that she won't be on the horse for a bit because of her spleen.

So we are almost at the end of SAB, it is coming to a close on March 31st. If there is a special set that you just have to have you still have time. :-D Here is a card that we did at my last in home workshop, all SAB stuff. Oh reminds me of Spring with all these pretty colors. Well anyway thanks for stopping in.

So I just love this card, it is a sample right out of the mini catalog. One of my girlfriends really wanted me to show this card, so we made it at my In Home Show today and they all just loved it. This fan technique is really neat and rather easy to do, I am sure that a few of them will be making more of these.

Tomorrow is a big day here, Sam has his Pine Wood Derby in the morning, can't wait for all the excitement. I will post some photos of the big event latter this weekend. Bird Card

Okay so one of the blogs that I visit is Fabulously Artsy (not Stampin' UP!). I know, I know, but I can still get some inspiration from her, and that is how I came up with this card. Last week she made a really pretty card and so I cased it using our Stampin' UP! products. I really think that the box fold with the DSP just turned out neat and gives the card some extra dimension. Oh and I don't know if you can see it very well but I used our shimmer paint along with the Baja Breeze re-inker (with alcohol) and spritzed it over the card. The girls at my last workshop made this card and they all seemed to really like it.

Okay, in my surfing this morning I came across this beautiful inspiration challenge over at

Stamp-A-Holics. While I was checking it out I saw that one of my friends had also played along, and go figure we also both used the same stamp set. This card below was one of my make and takes at a workshop this weekend and I thought that it would fit into this challenge, so I decided to play along. I love the look of our Presto Patterns Specialty DSP but in the catalog it is easy to look over. I have found that this is one of those products that has to be shown or used at a workshop. Pretty Distressed

Good Morning, I just got back from the gym, and I am telling you it is hard to get back into it again. Last year I was going at least 4 times a week and now I am lucky to make it twice a week. What is up with that...

So does this look a little familiar? I saw this on one of the display board at convention and knew that I would have to make this card form my girls at some point. I had a show on Sunday, Thanks Donna, and this was one of the projects that the girls made. I just love all the distressing but let me tell you when you have 7 girls making this one it can be bit fuzzy, literally. You should have seen all the dust this one created.

Santa - Holly

Oh so our porch roof is still leaking ;-( and Eric thought he fixed it. It rained here Tuesday night and pretty much all day on Wednesday. I went out to check on it and of course he was on travel and so at 6:00am I am out trying to figure out what to do and of course I did (catch the rain into a cup)... Temporary fix. You see this leak is right at the dormer which then slopes right into the porch roof, what a pain.

Pretty in Pink

Well hello, I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Mine is pretty low key, besides the football game this morning for my son that is about it. Yeah!!! Sloane went to a sleepover on Friday and Sam is at one tonight so it is pretty quiet around the home front. Oh did I mention the roof over our front porch is leaking, UGH!! Eric is working on this one, I am keeping my fingers crossed. Okay enough about that stuff and on to this pretty little pink thing. Friday night I had a show and this was one of the project. I showed them how to make is flowers and they all seemed to love it. This flower was a WOW project at Baltimore on October 1st.

Okay, I have to say sorry, I really thought it would take the girls about an hour and a half, Oh NO, we spent a lovely two and a half hours together, but that is all good because I love what I am doing and I get to spend time with some wonderful gals. Well now I have to get my class ready for next month, and right now I have no idea. Something for Fall though.

Halloween Cones

OMG are we getting a bunch of rain, good day to stay in and make homemade Chicken Noodle Soup for dinner. Kids are getting out 2 hours early because of this mess. We are going to pop some popcorn and watch a movie when they get home, stay in and stay dry.

Well anyway on to these cute little things. I am in the process of making a bunch of these cones for a Halloween Tree. Kim over at Stamin by the Sea gave a Tutorial on these cute guys so I just started making a bunch (fun, fun, fun), I am not finished but I will show you guys the tree on Monday. I picked up these packs of chipboard in a dollar bin (5 pieces of chipboard per package) and I grabbed a bunch, about 10 packs. At the time I didn't even know what I was going to do with them, I just knew I needed to get them, and they have been sitting in my room for about 7 months. I thought I could use them at my I-Crafty Camp but I had way to many other projects that I wanted to do with them. Well just the other day I was blog surfing and saw a really cute round gift bag tag, and the first thing I thought of were these great packs of chipboard. I pulled two of them out and this is what I came up with.

Reduce Reuse and Recycle

Nothing like being able to reuse something to reduce in the amount of trash... So I saw a card and I wish I could remember where I saw it and it was using card board like in my card and I just thought it was the coolest idea, hope you like it.

So anyway my card for the Baltimore SWAP will be really similar to this one. I know its two weeks away and there is nothing like waiting to the last minute, but I seem to work better under pressure. Well thanks for stopping in.

Wicked Halloween

Bow Tying 101

Okay so I was busy getting everything together for my Class on Friday, see this post for the details. Boy oh boy you really can get a bunch of projects out of the Spooky Things Decore Elements sheet. I don't want to give to much away for Fridays class but I got 7 different projects, the girls will be going home with 4 completed projects, and then they will have extra stuff to take home and play with. Just something a little simple and sweet. I love how the cris-cross (plus sign) of two of these labels look. I showed the girls at one of my last shows this cute little trick, just by taking two of these punches and making it into this. The punch is the new large Decorative Label found in the new Holiday Mini catalog on page 25 (item # 120907). This new mini is well going to break my budget!!! I am going to say Good Witch... So do you notice the waffle paper... I have been adding it to a bunch of projects and I just love the look of it as a ruffle behind something. My girls are so excited about the new mini catalog and I think this is on a bunch of their lists.

This week has been so busy I had a show on Sunday, thanks Tara it was fun. I have another one with Paula at the school on Thursday and then my in home workshop on Friday. Yeah keep it up girls I am having a good time. Not to mention I have been weeding through all my stamping stuff and pulling A BUNCH of items. Faux Silk

When I got back from Convention a bunch of us went through all my wonderful SWAPS and well one of the girls saw a beautiful card using the faux silk technique. She had a workshop scheduled for August 29th and she asked if I could do a card using this technique. Starfish CASE

Well the fist week of school is done and I am starting to get back into a nice little routine. I did miss having Sloane and Sam around but boy did I get alot done in these first three days. You should see all the stuff that I have pulled to sell and I finally have all my colors in order!!!

I saw this beautiful card over at Michelle Zindorf's blog and well I just had to try and make it. I have a show this Sunday and the girls want me to do this technique of hers and well this is my sample of what they will be making on Sunday. I don't think mine has enough white so I will be adding a bit more to my card. I'll take some photos and show some of the different cards that were made because you all know every time it turns out different. Well thanks for stopping in, hope you like my take on her card.
